This walk takes us into Bankside and we follow the Thames past Tate Modern, Shakespeare's Globe.
This is the area where everyone came to have fun away from the City - where the theatres were, the brothels, the bear baiting and bull baiting pits. Where the Bishop of Winchester l had his great palace (Hall remaining) and prison (the Clink) where those who broke the rules of the brothels were left with their feet dangling in the tide till they rotted. Is that a corpse we see rotting above our heads?
We call in at two pubs and end at the last galleried Inn in London, where Shakespeare's plays are still put on...
