Teams
CSSC London competitors: Richard Lewis (HM Treasury)
Barbados competitors: Graham Walker
Report
Based at the World Gym - the biggest fitness centre on the island with over
70 work stations - the competitors spent a gruelling half hour testing their
fitness on a combination of running, cycling and rowing events.
In the 5-minute run, Walker (Barbados) took an early lead and maintained
it to the
end to win
the
leg by
0.09 miles.
On
to
the cycling, again Walker took an early lead but Lewis (CSSC London) gradually
caught up resulting in a dead heat. On to the rowing, where initially Lewis
found
himself
at home, but Walker started catching up... However, Lewis eventually pulled
away to complete the 5-minute course with 0.94 miles compared to Walker's
0.84 miles.
Aggregate totals showed Lewis (CSSC London) in front by the narrowest of margins,
covering 3.36 miles compared with Walker's (Barbados) 3.35 miles. The overall
margin, less than 18 yards! 10 points to the UK in this narrowly fought and
exciting event.
