Report
A large crowd gathered to watch the climax of this tense, closely-fought
match.
After giving the locals an hour to practice and sort out their
best double, the London duo of Ray Collins and Mike Howell got
off to a flying start with a 2-0 lead. After the Bajan pair, Ruben
and Clyde, pulled a leg back, the CSSC London lads found form and
stretched to a 4-1 lead.
However, anyone who thought the match was as good as one at this
point, was made to think again. Ruben and Clyde stepped up the
pace to level the match at 4 legs all, then took the lead at 5-4.
Ray and Mike then roused themselves to level at 5-all before the
Bajans again surged to 6-5. The Londoners levelled at 6-all with
a cracking double-four finish by Ray.
That was however to be the final frontier for our lads, as Ruben
and Clyde took the next leg, and Clyde wowed the crowd with an
incredible 130 finish – 20, treble-20, bullseye – to
win the match 8-6. Well done!
Results
Barbados won 8-6.
