CSSC in Croydon: Ten pin bowling, 4 May 2007
The first bowling night took place on Friday 4 May (at City Limits
Ten Pin Bowling, The Colonnades, Purley Way) and it turned
out to be a nail biter.
The people who attended were split into four teams of six with the rivalry
between the two DWP teams there for all to see. The first game led by Alpesh,
Richard, Ricky Clare Royce and Lavinia easily out classed a team of Paul,
Deborah, Mark, Geri and Christel, Paul somehow getting the first strike
of the evening.
The second game was totally different as Mark's team smashed three strikes
in the first six goes. Not to be deterred Lavinia stepped up the pressure
smashing two strikes and a spare in her last three goes leaving Alpesh
needing a strike off the last ball of the game. Mark was already cheering
thinking he had won, but strike we needed and strike Alpesh delivered,
giving him the vital spare go and taking us past Mark's team.
Final scores were 441 to 449 and Mark crying into his pint!
A rematch is already booked for the end of the month but we will be mixing
and matching the teams with the guys from the Land Registry. It's safe
to say it was a great success and a good start - we hope to bring you a
lot more nights out soon.
The next Croydon Event will be another Ten Pin Bowling night on Friday
29 June at City Limits 10 Pin Bowling, The Colonnades, Croydon.
