Sailing and Windsurfing - Littleton Lake 30 June 2007
On Saturday 30th June, 18 CSSC Members braved the rain and the rather
nasty weather to attend the first Sailing and Wind Surfing day at
Littleton Lake Sailing Club.
Upon arrival we were greeted with a warm
welcome and a warm cup of tea! The groups were then taken by their
instructors to get equipment ready, squeeze into those wet suits and
learn the basics of dingy sailing and wind surfing.
After an hour lesson on land, the wind surfing group finally tried to
put their newly acquired skills to work on the water, weaving in and out
of those in the group who tried the dingy sailing. After becoming quite
aquatinted with the lake! everyone mastered standing up and heading in
one direction, thankfully for the group there were instructors on hand
to tow us back to shore.
After 4 hours on the water, our tired but happy members departed
Littleton for home for a much needed and well deserved rest.
